Project Overview
Our project took place in the Swann Estates neighborhood, located within the quaint county of Hillsborough, in Tampa, Florida. Our client was in need of our efficient gutter cleaning and inspection services to maintain his large, two-storey home. Before our arrival, the gutters were filled with an accumulation of leaves from the oaks in the back and palms in the front. However, after our professional cleaning and inspections, the home now boasts clear gutters and downspouts, visibly enhancing the cleanliness of the home’s exterior.
Project Description
This task included cleaning open gutters and downspouts by hand, ensuring all debris, primarily consisting of leaves and twigs, were completely removed. The client had requested a recurring 4-month maintenance schedule. Our expectation is to maintain the gutters and downspouts, increase the longevity of the home’s exterior, and prevent any future damages from clogged gutters.
Materials and Tools Used
To complete this project, our team at South Tampa Gutter & Window Cleaning used professional-grade blowers and handheld tools specially designed for gutter and downspout cleaning. These included portable and lightweight blowers, and durable trowels and scoops that efficiently remove extensive debris.
Challenges and Solutions
Initial inspection revealed some challenges in the form of broken tiles on the second story and trees touching the house in the back. However, our experienced team handled these issues with dexterity and recommended additional measures, such as trimming back the trees, to prevent recurring blockages.
Step-by-Step Process
The process initiated with a pre-cleaning inspection, systematically documenting the initial state with before photos. After that, all debris from the roof was cleared off using a blower. The open gutters and downspouts were cleaned out by hand and blower. Our check for clogs and subsequent clearing of downspouts did not include underground drains as they require a different application. Finally, all collected debris was bagged and left for curbside yard waste pickup. A post-cleaning inspection documented the final state with after photos.
