Project Overview
This was a comprehensive project for gutter cleaning and downspout drain cleaning in the South Westshore neighborhood of Tampa, Florida 33629. The client was in need of a thorough inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of their gutter systems and underground downspout drainage to ensure optimal operation and prevent any potential damage to their property.
Prior to our arrival, the property’s gutter and downspout drain systems were clogged, limiting their functionality. Post-service, the gutters and downspouts were left in pristine condition, free of any blockages, with preventative measures put in place for additional protection and long-lasting operation.
Project Description
The scope of this project involved intensive gutter cleaning, which included the inspection of gutters, removal of debris from roofs, and unblocking downspouts. The client also requested premium underground downspout drain cleaning, which involved unclogging and flushing out each inlet to an underground catch basin using a hydrojetter. Lastly, Gutter Stick installations were requested at the top of each downspout connected to drains.
The client expected to restore the effectiveness and lifespan of their gutter systems and underground downspouts, and to prevent potential damage to their home’s foundation caused by water overflow.
Materials and Tools Used
For this project, our experienced team used a range of specialized equipment and products. For the gutter cleaning, we employed blower machines for roof debris removal and a hand-removal technique for gutters and downspouts. The underground downspout drain cleaning process utilized a hydrojetter machine, and Gutter Sticks were installed at the downspout inlets for preventative maintenance against future clogs.
Challenges and Solutions
Working on this project, we faced a few challenges. The backyard area had grates on each side, requiring us to take extra precautions during the drain cleaning process. With our team’s expertise and careful planning, we managed to complete the drain cleaning without causing any disruptions to the yard or the grates.
Moreover, substantial amounts of debris had accumulated in the gutters, requiring meticulous effort for its removal. However, our team diligently worked to ensure that all debris was properly bagged and ready for appropriate disposal.
Step-by-Step Process
Our initial assessment led us to conclude that extensive gutter cleaning and downspout drain cleaning, followed by installing gutter sticks, would restore the functionality of the gutter systems. To start, we cleared the roof’s debris using blowers, and then manually removed the debris from the gutters and downspouts.
We then moved on to the underground downspout drain cleaning, using a hydrojetter to unclog and flush out each inlet to an underground catch basin. Finally, we installed Gutter Sticks at the top of each cleaned downspout to prevent future clogs and ensured all areas were thoroughly cleaned, including the pool cage, as per the service notes from the client.
